A Sobering Reminder: Leroy’s Closes

This week, we were saddened to hear the news that Leroy’s in Shoreditch has closed its doors after seven years. Leroy’s was a brilliant spot, known for its simple, unpretentious food and an exceptional wine list—exactly the kind of restaurant we admire and aspire to emulate
It’s always heart breaking when talented teams full of people who we respect and admire decide it’s time to call it a day. Leroy’s Michelin star - held for six years - reminds us that even accolades at the highest level can’t guarantee long-term success in this game
The energy, emotional labour, and commitment it takes to open a restaurant is one thing, but maintaining such a high standard year after year, service after service, is an extraordinary achievement and is only possible based on the hard work and commitment of the team working on the floor & in the kitchen every day
The most poignant line of their closing statement:"Use your restaurants or lose them. They need you now more than ever."
If you’re reading this, we know you’re a restaurant lover, so maybe take a moment today to book a table at a spot you admire - a place you want to see thrive
If that’s Wilson’s, we’d be thrilled (there are links all over this email) but truly any restaurant you respect will do. Behind every service, there’s a team working hard to overcome challenges you may never see, and even one extra booking can make a big difference!
