A few of you will have spotted some changes over the last few months of 2025, starting with our very first commissioned pieces now hanging proudly next to the kitchen courtesy of the lovely Frankie Thorp!
Henry has been a big fan of Frankie and her work for a long time and has a couple of her pieces at home, so we were chuffed when she offered to create a few pieces just for us!
If you know her stuff, you’ll be familiar with the cocktail prints and canine portraits…it’s all warm, fun, and full of charm, which is exactly the vibe we want
Unwrapping the original pieces was a real moment…she captured some of our favourite dishes (beef shin nuggets and goat’s cheese profiteroles), along with our Negroni and Dirty Martini, and they now sit proudly next to the pass!
You might also have clocked the prints in the front room by another of Henry’s mates, the brilliant Conor Murgatroyd who Henry met via Rye Lanez tattoo studio. His depictions of Soper’s fishmonger and Ayres bakery in Nunhead are iconic, and they spark all sorts of conversations between guests who recognise the local landmarks…but just can’t quite place them!
More recently, Conor released a limited run of prints of a new piece called Reservation for Two, which we loved the moment we saw it. It now hangs in the back dining room, just on your left as you walk in, so if you have chance then do take a moment to stop and have a glance. The piece depicts different elements of a restaurant but the details really reward a deeper look!
We’ve said before how much we enjoy curating the walls of the restaurant, and it’s true…the art helps shape the tone of the room and adds another layer to the story we’re trying to tell
So next time you’re in, have a wander, take a look, and keep your eyes peeled for more new work going up in the front room next week!
