Where We Eat – Trinity in Clapham

Last week Henry and his dad took a trip to Clapham for lunch at Trinity by Adam Byatt, which was quite the treat!
It’s a classic one-star restaurant, with everything you’d expect from the genre. Immaculate cooking, flawless service, and a set lunch menu starting at £90 per head before you even get into the supplements!
There were secret extra courses, elegant plates, and plenty of theatre. All in all it was a full sensory experience and a genuinely excellent lunch
Henry’s highlights were the cheese thins served right at the start and the desserts at the end, including a rhubarb mille-feuille, pictured above, and perhaps best of all, the tarte tatin!
It was also a chance to explore some new-world wines from an outstanding list, a refreshing change from the usual Burgundy leanings!
So, classic one-star vibes and glowing reviews from the Freestone lads…but it also underlines just how wide the Michelin spectrum has become.
It’s clearly ridiculous to compare Trinity and The Kerfield directly…they are entirely different places doing entirely different things.
What they do have in common is that they do it very, very well indeed and we should be equally grateful for them both!
