Where We Eat: Mauby

As you might expect we’re big fans of Ladywell and we reckon that as SE London neighbourhoods go, it’s right up there!

Having said that even we would have to admit that Brockley is also pretty good and whilst Henry was sad to see the demise of Fishy Business on Harefield Road last year the replacement in the form of Mauby is definitely a step up!

A Carribean restaurant & bar by Heleena and Daniel Maynard who previously ran Jerk Off BBQ in Deptford the space is intimate, cosy & inviting and the food is absolutely on point…the sausage pictured above being a stand out dish.

We’ve popped in a couple of times since they opened and have always enjoyed both the food and the warm welcome so if you’ve not tried it out yet then you definitely should!

It’s another small, local, independent business that we’re sure would appreciate your support.  That said, a quick check online reveals they’re taking a well-earned break and are closed throughout January. So maybe swing by Wilson’s this month to keep us company, and then pop over to Mauby in February!
