Where We Eat: Steak Frites & Nostalgia

Steak frites is having a moment—it’s on every menu and everyone claims to know where to find the "Best Steak Frites in London." Our own version pictured above is on the menu every Saturday lunch, even if it hasn’t made any Instagram lists yet!

In many ways this plays into the broader trend toward bistro-style restaurants, focused on French or Italian classics, which have been flourishing in London over the past couple of years. The story goes that in uncertain times, familiar flavours and nostalgia are a natural comfort, which certainly feels about right to us

In truth, nostalgia, familiarity, and respect for the classics were key themes when we first discussed how we wanted Wilson's to look, feel and taste.  So, to find that our ethos is in sync with the prevailing themes of the London dining scene must be a good sign for the future!
