Where We Eat: Josephine in Marylebone

We’re ending the year with a standout meal at Josephine in Marylebone where we had lunch with Joel’s dad back in November
It’s a bistro by Claude Bosi, the chef behind Bibendum and one of the most consistent names in the game. The room was buzzing, packed for a midweek lunch, and felt like it had been airlifted straight out of Paris!
The menu played every brasserie hit you could hope for. No reinvention. No surprises. Just classic dishes that made you want to order them all. The kind of food you hope will be done properly…and here, it absolutely was!
The standouts?
Camembert soufflé with just the right wobble!
Trout in a red wine butter sauce so shiny you could see your face in it!
Crème caramel with the caramel taken right to the edge…fine margins indeed!
It was a reminder of what a good restaurant means to us. Not bells and whistles. Not clever new ideas. The simple act of delivering on a promise…by taking something familiar, executing it with confidence and consistency and sending people home feeling cared for and satisfied!
Josephine nailed it. We’ll be back next year without a doubt!
